Work and Whatnot

It's official. Baby M rolled over for the very first time today! I'm so proud of the little runt for figuring it out. She had her first taste of cereal and Saturday, she let out her first little chuckle. Time is marching on and things seem to stay somewhat the same in my day to day life. Work, work and work. We had visitation with the parents today and they were a no show. The frustration of wasting an entire afternoon and several gallons of gas is nothing compared to the sadness I feel when I look into those adorable baby eyes and realize her own parents will not drive less than five minutes to spend one hour with their daughter. I wish you could meet her yourself, it would change you. She experienced the pool a little this  weekend and in just three short days she will turn 4 months old! Her tiny world is broadening its horizons.

The past few weeks I have thought a lot about this little space. I have decided to keep my site and not force myself to blog when I just have nothing to say. Like journaling, I write when something happens or when I am learning or growing through something in life. Working over 40 hours a week has been a shock to my system, I commend you true adults for sticking it out through an endless amount of work and ceasing to complain. I don't want to bore you but at the same time, I started this blog to keep up with and share my day to day happenings and that is just what I am going to do. Boring or not!

I have a  few things that I hope to get in writing this week. Next week, I HAVE THE ENTIRE WEEK OFF!!! Eeek! More posts to come..

I am off to coffee with a few close friends. Nothing replaces quality time spent with the ones that mean the most!
 Happy Monday!

my main man

This man.
The most patient person in the world to live in a house with these three crazy women!
He has taught me to dream big and that my dreams are attainable if I put my mind to it.
 He sacrifices for us.
He has the biggest heart! A heart that has experienced hurt and yet, overflows with love. A contagious kind of love that makes you want to try harder and be better.
We share memories that I would never have imagined in my lifetime.
You have given me the world but more importantly, you have shown me Jesus.
By loving my mother, you have shown me how a woman should be treated and loved.
In certain ways, you taught me how to be a lady.
To believe in myself.
A dad to many lost souls and a father to me.
I love you, daddy!

Hope.

TimeHop Abe sends me an email every now and again about an event that happened exactly one year ago to the date. I enjoy seeing what I posted on social media a year ago and how things have changed {or how they haven’t}. This time last year, I was posting about making it to the Philippines and starting my 10 week long journey. I have enjoyed seeing those posts again and being reminded just how fast time flies!

But today, it wasn’t the post that struck chord in my heart, it was a blurb at the bottom of the email...

"don’t let year-ago Meagan hog all the glory. Get up and get out there. A new day awaits.”

This past year hasn’t been the easiest for me. The struggles seem slightly insignificant but to me, they were life changing. I have slacked off of striving for something better, something new. My health, my grades, my ambitions are living in the year-ago Meagan’s shadow.

It’s time for change. It’s time to get up and get out there and start a new adventure. Some days, I just need to be reminded that a new day awaits and there is hope for tomorrow.

bunny + itch. oh my.

I haven't been this tired in a long time. Like, so tired I could cry at the drop of a hat. This whole working thing is not all it's cracked up to be..and I feel semi-bad for judging people based on the way their children behave. Did you know that your child has breakdowns over the sandwich you make them for lunch? And when you hear them try to combine bunny + itch, trying to make up new words, like kids do...not good. Wherever I go, God teaches me some crazy life lessons to use somewhere down the road.

For some reason, I thought I would have so much time once school was over buuuttt that hasn't exactly panned out. Balance is hard and some nights I'm so tired that it's hard not to overflow with emotional word vom. Be patient lovelies, I'm working on it. The concept of scheduled posts may become my best friend for a few weeks.

For now, sit back and enjoy some of the newest and most fashionable jewelry on the market. It's only available to those that are young at heart and like a pop of color in their day! Much love.

I'm Back!

I am a bad blogger. I guess I should have sent out a little PSA last week letting all of you know that I would be MIA for a bit, but now I’m back. One of my best friends got married last weekend and we left the next day for Boston {family vacation} and Cape Cod. It was a wonderful trip and if you didn’t catch some of my previous pictures you must take a look! I have never been to this region before and getting to visit was such a treat. A good mix of history, relaxation, good food and fun!

It’s June! I can’t believe that this wonderful summer month has slipped up on me so quickly. I started my new job today at a day camp. Oh my goodness, I’m pooped ya’ll. I promise to get back into a routine and stop neglecting the blog! I have some new readers that have joined up with me in the past few weeks, WELCOME! I love having new friends in blogland. If you live in New England, I'm jealous of your weather and I enjoyed it so very much last week.

My prayer list is growing with missionaries and foster baby needs. If you have any need for personal prayer please email me! You can find my address by clicking on the little envelope on the right hand side of the screen. In the coming days, look for my Cara Box reveal and some good stuff Jesus is teaching me this week.

Don't worry...We shared this incredible calzone!
Much love and happy first week of June,
